Clerkenwell Design Week 2016

Now in it’s seventh year, the festival is growing in size and popularity each year.

Over 200 architectural prectices and over 80 contemporary furniture companies reside in the Clerkenwell area of London, making it the perfect location for a design ffestival.

Every year, we plan a visit to CDW to view newly launched products and attend any talks that might be of interest to the office fit out industry.

Here are some of the more interesting products and trends that were on show this year;

 

  • Sound pods

    SequesterThese single person pods can connect to your smartphone or tablet via bluetooth allowing you to relax and listen to your favourite music or catch up on a podcast in comfort and on surround sound without disturbing your co-workers.

  • The return of wood!

The industrial aesthetics of powder coated or chromed frames with solid colour melamine tops is being challenged by more natural solid wooden frames.

    Sedus has initiated a contemporary classic revival by re-inventing some of their designer chairs with a classic spin. Paying homage to the much loved 2oth Century designs that have become household names they have used vintage leather and classic ribbed upholstery styles so that you can get the 20th century look without sacrificing the 21st century features.
